What is it?

Lashbrook Mosaic inlays are made from crushing gemstones into small pieces and binding pieces into a deeply cut groove or channel within the ring. Because many stones have various colors, inclusions, and other mineral veins running them (like the Gold colored Pyrite in Lapis) when the Mosaics are assembled, the final appearance has a varied, colorful, dynamic appearance.

Mosaic style inlays are the best way to utilize many gemstones in rings (which take daily abuse from wear on the hand) because some gemstones would be otherwise too soft, brittle or prone to breakage if inlaid as a single/solid piece. To further enhance the durability of Mosaic inlays, Lashbrook uses a jewelry grade resin to bind, seal, and protect the gemstones which has the added benefit of being highly polished.

Semi-Precious Stones

Our Mosaics are carefully crushed genuine stones, which are embedded in your ring and covered with a UV neutral aerospace grade resin.

Material Guide

Currently, we have 23 mosaic options with gemstones imported from around the world. Gemstones vary in their cost and rarity but all are naturally mined, without dyes or other treatments- allowing the natural beauty of each stone to speak for itself. The only exception is coral, which has a colored treatment as most red coral species are endangered.

Wear & Care

Our resin protects the otherwise susceptible gemstone materials in such a way that the ring can be worn with little to no special consideration. However, these rings should be treated as fine jewelry, and should be removed during harsh activities that could damage the ring.

Cleaning: Mosaic rings need no special care and can be cleaned with regular jewelry cleaner, steam or ultrasonic. For refurbishment, rings should be returned to us (see refurbishment).

Unique Characteristics

People have valued gemstones for thousands of years. These have been associated with energy, healing, personality traits, astronomy, etc. Egyptians believed gemstones like lapis lazuli and ivory in jewelry were put to use as a means to contact their gods and goddesses. As stated in “The History of Gemstones” by mineralexchange.com (2022) “As a result, people also claim gemstones can reveal destiny and grow powers of intuition when put to use on higher chakras.”

Customization & Personalization

Available in an infinite number of options for customization- however, we do not do mosaics as a sleeve. We can use a customer provided gemstone or material to use as a mosaic, for example sand from a beach, rocks from a special place or another unique idea. Please contact customer service for any questions.
